Dr. Petersen is Professor in the division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He attended Mayo Medical School, Internal Medicine residency at Georgetown University Hospitals in Washington, D.C. and GI Fellowship at Mayo in Rochester. His professional interests include performance and outcomes of ERCP, teaching of endoscopy and delivery of endoscopic services. He has received the Mayo GI Fellows Award for Outstanding Teacher and for GI Endoscopy Teacher of the Year, and The Master Endoscopist Award from the ASGE.  Dr. Petersen is currently the President of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
