Dr. Vela is Professor Medicine, Director of Esophageal Disorders, and Program Director for the Advanced Fellowship in Esophageal Diseases at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.  He has more than 100 publications to his name in peer reviewed journals, including guidelines and consensus papers in esophageal disorders.
