David O. Sussman, DO, FACOS Clinical Associate Professor Department of Surgery Division of Urology, Rowan University Section Head Female Urology and Voiding Dysfunction Chief of Urology, Jefferson New Jersey Dr. David Sussman, FACOS, is clinical associate professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Urology, and section head of Female Urology and Voiding Dysfunction at Rowan University.He also serves as chief of urology for Jefferson New Jersey, a 3 hospital health system in southern New Jersey. Dr. Sussman received his medical degree in 1985 from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, and completed his residency in general surgery and urology at UMDNJ and the Kennedy Memorial Hospitals-University Medical Center in Stratford. .He also participated in a fellowship program in female urology and voiding dysfunction with Gary Leach, MD, at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Sussman has lectured and published in peer-reviewed journals on the subjects of overactive bladder (OAB), urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and erectile dysfunction. He is a board-certified urologic surgeon and a fellow of American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS), and is a member of numerous professional associations, including the, the American Urological Association, ACOS, the International Continence Society, and the Society for Urodynamics and Female Urology. Dr. Sussman is actively engaged in clinical research involving BPH, urinary incontinence and voiding dysfunction. Current studies include new oral agents for OAB, intradetursor treatment of neurogenic detrusor overactivity, PTNS with implantable device and minimally invasive treatment for BPH. Dr. Sussman has served as a speaker, moderator, and symposium chairman for many major urology symposia, seminars and conferences, lectured nationally and internationally on the evaluation and treatment of OAB/incontinence, and has authored or co-authored many peer reviewed journal articles, posters and abstracts. In addition he has been a member of international faculty to teach residents the techniques of prosthetic surgery and the treatment and evaluation of erectile dysfunction.
