JUAN AGUILERA

Dr. Aguilera is a physician-scientist serving as the Director of Translational Environmental and Climate Health at the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy & Asthma Research. His research focuses on understanding the impact of air pollution and wildfire smoke on immune health in at-risk populations such as children with asthma, pregnant women, and firefighters. His previous works have shown the negative effects of traffic-related air pollutants on physical activity in children with asthma as well as the associations of traffic and transportation-related variables with metabolic biomarkers in low-income populations from a border community.
