Professor Hartung is Professor of Neurology at Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf, Honorary Professor,
Brain and Mind Center, University of Sydney, Visiting Professor at Medical University Vienna and Palacky
University Olomouc.

Professor Hartung’s clinical and translational research interests are in the field of basic and clinical
neuroimmunology, particularly exploring new treatments for CNS and PNS autoimmune disorders. He was
President of ECTRIMS and is executive board member of the European Charcot Foundation.

He has served on the SC and DMC of many phase 2 and 3 trials in MS, NMOSD, CIDP and GBS , and
authored more than 1060 articles He is a Highly Cited Researcher 2017, 2018 , 2020, 2021.
